After a very warm week last week, it has turned cold again in Creil; this week offered us snow (Monday), rain (Tuesday), hail (Wednesday) and a chilly wind throughout. Apparently this is normal practice for March and we will be having warmer weather again soon (next week I hope!).
Vicky came to visit for 3 days this week, and I showed her around the area - we visited Beauvais cathedral on Tuesday morning (one of the oldest in France or something - it was begun in the 1200s but not finished for about 400 years), and Senlis, town and cathedral, in the afternoon (small but very pretty and very old - it has Roman ramparts from the 3rd century and cobbled streets). To Creil markets and then Paris on Wednesday, where we went inside Notre Dame and toured the outside of the Louvre (luckily we escaped the hail), then to Chantilly for the chateau on Thursday. We were invited to drinks with Katie's French neighbour and a friend (the first time I've hung out with a French person of about my age!!), which was great, since they're cool people and they have a car so we got a ride home.
Only 3 weeks of teaching left and then I'm off on 6 weeks holiday before coming home to beautiful Australia. Can't wait to see everyone, although I'll be sorry to say farewell to my international mates, especially my Bolivianita. The kids I won't miss so much - especially some of my new classes who have now been subjected to disciplinary action!
