Nat's Journey
The Adventures of Nat in a Hat
Just spent the weekend in Reims, which has a très bizarre pronunciation - rhymes with "France" - and is famous for Champagne and its Cathedral. I stayed with Jen and did fun girly things like watching the whole first season of Grey's Anatomy (mmm, Patrick Dempsey...and post-Christmas reduced chocolate) - much-needed relaxation time.
The cathedral is amazing; no wonder they used to use it for coronations. Apart from the usual kind of beautiful stained glass windows, there was an incredible round window (will add photo to photo page) and an amazing high ceiling. I've noticed that all the Notre Dame cathedrals have the same architecture - lots of detailed arches above the doors and gothic gargoyles protruding from the walls.
It was so windy I nearly lost my hat - it blew off my head into a locked construction site, but I found a plank of wood and Jen (who has longer arms) managed to get it out. That hat's been through quite a lot now - I nearly lost it in Glasgow when it blew off at the station, but it flew into a puddle and I managed to get it back. Like Indiana Jones, this girl always goes back for her hat!
