Nat's Journey
Today we came back from 3 days of training on the coast (actually, it was more like farmland than coast). I have made some new friends (check out my photos) and we spent the afternoon in Amiens before I returned home to Creil. We didn't have very long in Amiens so we visited the cathedral, which was beautiful. It is huge!!!
Inside there are incredible high ceilings and giant stained glass windows; as soon as you walk in you start to whisper (maybe this compulsion is because it is holy, or the sound echoes; either way, it makes it kind of special). Willie lit a candle for his mother and we walked around and looked at the statues and carvings.
They were doing refurbishment work on the outside so one of the entranceways was blocked off (I think it was the main entry) but the other sides of the cathedral were equally impressive. Please note the image on this entry is not the cathedral I visited; see my photos for images of Amiens cathedral.
Hopefully we'll make it back to Amiens as it isn't very far and is quite beautiful (unlike Creil, unfortunately!)
