Sarah's Australia Trip
Yesterday i went to the observation thingy, skytower i think its called.
Just checked my last entry and i havent sed anythin bout the day before that. most confusing it was too.
I went to the Queen Victoria building which is a victorian shopping mall, very posh, took some photos. Hwever, as i was wandering around i didnt realise that i was probably walking into other shopping centres, as i didnt go outside. i was very confused by this.
A clue could have been that the shops stopped looking victorian. But i didnt take much notice as there were quite a few sales on. Definately enjoyed myself.
Managed to find a door to the outside world eventually, and saw the skytower, but i had no idea where i was, so i went vack into the building i had just left and tried to find where i had come from. i did eventually. Then i saw the other side of the sky tower. i have no idea how this happened. but it was interesting anyway.
Yesterday i went to the sky tower. I didnt know where it was, but luckily its very tall so i walked in its general direction and managed to come across it, another shopping centre underneath it! which i may or may not ahve been in in teh previous day...they all blur into one. except the victorian one which looks different.
Anyway. there were a few things you could do, mainly the oztrek and skytour (observation deck) or the sky walk. i figured i didnt want that one as it was well over $100 and another thing where u have to wear jumpsuits.
So paid for the oztrek one. we sat down in a little space, the whole room was circular, but u were only in a little sectin of it. im not explaining this very well but i will try. i may do a drawing for u wen i get bak if its too confusing.
We were infront of a tiny little stage and then 2 tiny little ppl appeared (if u have ever been to the haunted house in alton towers, at the start thers a small house with a little ghost girl in it. no idea how they do that, but its a little 3d person and thats what it looked like)
anyway, the 2 tiny little people talked about oz for bout 3mins, then the floor moved round and we were infront of another little stage and a similar thing happened except with the outback, the beach, jungles and a rooftop.
Then we went into a different room and sat on very big chairs, a bar came down over our heads. then the same bloke from before (much bigger this time and less 3d as he was on a screen) started goin on about australia some more, while showing different things like a jungle and the outback etc, only this time the chairs were actively trying to throw their occupants to the floor, presumably to make you feel like u were ''really there''. but i just felt a bit sick.
The observation deck was betta. went to the top in the smallest lift i have ever seen, a triangle shape, 8ppl jammed together, me with someones armpit in my face, trying not to notice the fact that we're squished together like sardines.
Great views tho. apparently its the 2nd highest tower in the southern hemisphere but they didnt mention what the first was. someone at the hostel sed he thort it was somewhere in malaysia.
Got some good pics, but there were a few big buildings blocking the opera house so theres just 2 little points btwn massive buildings.
Also took a photo of the highest working postbox in the southern hemisphere. wanted to post something, but there wasnt anything readily available, so i took a photo instead. its green. i have no idea what posessed someone to put a postbox ontop of the 2nd highest tower in the southern hemisphere, but i suppose its a talking point.
Cant remember what i did after that. obviously another trip in the armpit lift as i am clearly not still up there.
Think i just walked around some more before goin back to the hostel.
