This weekend has flown by! Saturday morning My Godmother and I carried on our garlic hunt in St Andrews at a Farmer's market, except there were more 'alternative people' than farmers...we walked round each stall looking for garlic and lo and behold before long we found Ron (known by many as weird Ron). He gave us some positives and negatives (more negatives than positives) and sent us on our way with some useful tips. We headed on down to another veggie stall but the lady there wasn't very helpful. After I was almost sold a travel pillow and we had seen some pretty funky clothes, we were hungry for some lunch.
We found a cute cafe that made awesome toasted sandwiches and was run by a very lovely lady. We then made our way back home via Arthur's Creek. A place where we knew some people had a much larger garlic and chilli business. They were not there, so hilariously the only way to see any of their land was to view them from a cemetary on the hill behind them. So there we are, my Godmother trying to work out which way they were ploughing their field while I watched about 30 kangaroos bouncing along in a field below.
After that mission impossible, we got home in time to prepare for our evening out. We were driving down to Packenham to watch a tribute to the Rocky Horror Show starring one of my Godmother's friends as Riff Raff. There was only a small audience as the rest of Victoria were most likely watching the Grand Prix. So with less people, they kinda went a bit crazy wth the audience participation. They had already given us newspaper for the 'rain' except the guy playing Brad came right up to me and squirted me right in the face! Needless to say, my newspaper was soaked. Anywho at least I wasn't poor Neil who had the attention of one of the female actors for pretty much all of the audience or Shirley who was dragged up on stage to do the Time Warp...
It was a late night, but I was up relatively early this morning for brunch with all my family. We weren't meeting up till 11 but the time worked out so I got in 20 mins early and it was a 40 min journey already. I went in and got myself a cuppa and waited while reading my book. It wasn't long before they started to cram on to the table: there were 14 of us in total. The chef struggled to get all our meals delivered to us together so it worked out that eggs benedict orders were first, then my pancakes and the kids orders, then the scrambled eggs on toast. This meant the food went on until 1pm but left plenty of time for chatting.
I was driven home by one family member and they came in for a cup of tea with my Godmother's family which was rather lovely. After she had departed I spent the afternoon researching some more family history while there were some records available online, free till the end of today.
With the last few days having been so busy, I need now to go and catch some well earned shut eye...
