Well all I am now in the sunny land of Oz! I am so exhausted due to having absolutely no sleep on my flight from Singapore last night, but I think that was just due to the sheer quantity of people on board.
My stomach is also suffereing some serious jet lag; it's just a bit unsure why I've had pad thai for breakfast one day and then only an earl grey tea until my midnight meal of chicken and potatoes... the grumblings will settleeventually I'm sure and the calamari salad seems to have cheered it up tonight :)
My day has involved meerkats, sharks and a gorgeous labrador called Freya. The meerkats and sharks are in separate areas of the Royal Children's Hospital here in Melbourne. The meerkats have their own manor in an enclosed glass case in one of the waiting areas for the children to enjoy [1] While small sharks, Dory and Nemo swim happily together in a vertical tube aquarium that runs between the floors in the main reception of the hospital. The interaction and stimulation for these sick children is wonderful and makes the hospital a much more enjoyable, or at least bearable, place to be.
The temperature is 30 degrees c and made my evening meal outside, with my wonderful hosts, so enjoyable. I better be off to bed but I'm sure there will be plenty to report on in the next few days.
