Although 'Dingoes' aren't strictly true in the sense that I saw some today at a sanctuary or something, but I needed another word beginning with 'D'. I will explain fully:
My Godmother, whom I am staying with for the beginning part of this trip, and who has let me set up Australia Base Camp at her home with her lovely family, had a dentist's appointment today. On the way we stopped by Bundoora Park, a family adventure and wildlife experience centre, to see some of my Godmother's friends. Unfortunately they would not be there till later; so, after a milkshake, we headed off to the dentists. I whiled the time away with a National Geographic and a Reader's Digest and before I knew it we were back at Bundoora to see these friends. It was lovely to chat to these people and we could get free entry to the park, even if we didn't have time to see the emu's and kanga's (maybe another day).
Back at the homestead, we had some lunch and have spent so much time chatting I will probably get a repetitive strain injury in my jaw... Then as the temperature had risen to the mid 30's, we hopped into the pool for a cool down. I lathered myself up in factor 50 even if it was half 5 in the afternoon.
This evening was barbecue chicken and then we watched the movie they had made for the last time my family and I had been here ten years ago where, myself, my brother and my Godmother's oldest son, continued a documentary style dialogue in front of the dingo enclosure at a wildlife sanctuary. Aha...so dingoes did go into it somewhere I hear you thinking: Yes, and no they are not quite ginger collies, but maybe I could tame one for Meg to have a big brother...
I've now just continued chatting with my Godmother about anything and everything over cake, tea and a mango lolly (each).
It's not thrilling, but I'm certainly relaxed and I do have plenty of time; even if today just seemed to fly by...
