A Semester Overseas
Today I had German class as always from 12:30-3:30pm. Then I had auditions for the music program at 4pm. All the pianists and violinists went today and the woodwinds go tommorrow. But I everyone had to sit through all the auditions which means the entire everyone (50 people) will be watching me audition tommorrow! They said that this was the largest amount of people they've had sign up for the music program.
In the evening we decided to go to a film festival going on at the Rathaus. The Rathaus is the new town hall and the seat of the Vienna City and Provincial Assembly. It is in the neo- gothic style and has a huge tower topped by a statue of a knight in armour called "the Rathausmann." During the summer, a huge outdoor movie screen is set up in front of the Rathaus and it usually shows films of operas and concerts. Tonight they showed a film of Carmina Burana which was awesome. They have a bunch of food stands set up everywhere so you can still watch the movie while you are ordering dinner. It was fun because it had great music in front of awesome architecture. I put up some photos of the big movie screen and of the U-bahn station we went to to get there.
