Today my German class took a field trip to the Heurigen. The Heurigen are the wineries in Vienna. Vienna is the only city in the world in which grapes are grown to make wine. There are approximately 700 quadratic kilometers of wine growing area in the city of Vienna. The winery served us lunch and a huge glass of wine. The school paid for us again so we got another free meal! We had really good salad and chicken. I also had another teaching internship class where we learned about discipline in the austrian schools. There is no such thing as detention or suspension in the schools here which I thought was interesting. Not too much else is going on- I went to a kaffehaus again last night to study for my german test today and I walked along the ringstrasse with becky which is really pretty at night when it lights up. We always see all the people from the opera come out in their gowns and suits when we walk by the staatsoper at night. Lohengrin by Wagner was playing so I hope to see that soon. I made pasta for dinner last night so I'm eating well! And our friends in the 14th district are throwing a dinner party so we are going over there for dinner tonight. It's a free meal so I'm excited! I haven't had time to take my apple to the store but I am going to stop by tommorrow. Call me whenever you can! Next friday is my last day of intensive German class and then I am on break for a week. It's funny because it feels like I've been on a break for the past 2 weeks so I don't really need another one but I will be going on the three city tour of Prague, Krakow, and Budapest during that time. So that is what is coming up in my schedule!
