Nonna & JN's Trip Around The World 2012
Today we took a cooking class at a local restaurant in
Ubud. We learned to make several dishes - corn fritters, chicken satay, fried rice, black rice pudding, fish ball soup. The class began with a visit to the market, where the chef explained and showed the ingredients we were to use in the dishes, including the spices for the sauces. We also saw lots of local fruits and flowers for the offerings. The class was in an outdoor kitchen looking into the garden. There were only four of us, so it was nice to have individual attention. After we finished cooking, we had a lovely lunch in the garden.
