After over a month of travel I am in the city where I was born - Philadelphia. It was a bright crisp day and I spent most of it out and about. I went to the Philadelphia archives to try to find more information about my maternal grandmother. It is time consuming work and sometimes like looking for a needle in a haystack. I got a few leads but not a homerun. I did locate the cemetery where my maternal grandparents are buried and my cousin is going to take me tomorrow to pay my respects. I remember my granddad well because he lived with us, we called him gramps. My grand mom died when I was one which is why she is the person I have always been the most curious about. After the archives I managed to make it to see the Liberty Bell, crack and all. I got there too late for tickets to Independence Hall but I did get into the Congress and Senate building. It is thrilling to walk in a place where the great leaders of our country walked. Maybe I stood where George Washington or Thomas Jefferson stood. Walked several miles today and happy as hell that I can do it.
