So this morning I get up and walk all the way down to the center of town again to the bus station with the hostel mate Kyle I met from London. He went off to the islands somewhere and I headed for Positano. the ride up the mountains was just breath-taking. We drove on this thin hillside road that overlooked the whole city of Sorrento. We reached what seemed to be the top and started headed down hill again. One there was a clearing the whole bus pretty much gasped at the same time from amazement. We were on this tiny ass road literally scaling the side of the mountain we just drove up. all you could see to the right was miles and miles of the ocean and to the left was just a wall of rock. The road was winding and a bit intimidating during sharp turns, I mean it felt like the seats were hanging over the edge. We started getting closer to Positano and it was just picture perfect. The houses and hotels all lined the edges of the cliffs that all were facing in toward the beach down at the very bottom. I checked into my hostel and went right for the center of town. It was pretty packed with people as the weather is pretty perfect too. I walked down to the beach and looked up in awe. I headed back up the hill for some lunch then had to walk even further up the hill back to the hostel. I am feeling pretty weak at this point and seemed to have come down with a fever. Luckily the dude at reception had some Advil and gave me some. I am just waiting for them to kick in so I can get out and enjoy the night....... So the night came and felt much better! I met this dude named Matt from London who I chatted with for a bit and not before long it was dinner time. We headed up the hill to this local favorite place called Constantino's that over looked ALL of Positano. I ordered insalata, homemade pasta with mussels, tomatoes and garlic and it was maybe the best pasta dish I have ever had (sorry gram, it was that good). After dinner people just hung around the hostel as we played cards and ate cookies. The next morning I headed down to the beach to have a day of sunbathing and relaxing. The walk down was pretty rough, stairs that went on for miles. Once we got to the beach it was well worth it. The water is so damn crystal clear its hard to believe its real. We had an amazing lunch at the cafe on the beach, insalata mista for me that was too too good! A few more hours on the beach and we headed back up to the hostel, it was a nightmare! After a day in the sun walking up those the stairs was a project in itself. About 20 minutes of stopping and going to catch out breath we finally reached the hostel. There is a beach party tonight I highly doubt I am attending due to the stairs of death.
