Off to Otavalo for the markets in the rain, little did we know it would clear up and become a fantastic day! We went nuts with the shopping because it was so cheap, but the best purchase of all was the PONCHOS!! We also got an assortment of other useless things that shall remain nameless. Bartering was really fun i learnt how to do deals in spanish and brush people off i`m now a real pro.

On the way home we decided to go to the Mitad Del Mundo which translates to Middle of the World which is on the equator. We got off the bus because the guy said just get off and turn right, what he failed to mention was that it was another 15minute bus ride right so we started to walk then were told at a servo by some street vendors that we needed to catch the bus.

This done we finally got there with only 15 minutes to spare before it closed! The guy kindly showed us the cool experiments with the way the water spins and your strength on the equator really sweet stuff.

We got home to The Secret Garden for a nice burger dinner then hijacked a conversation which led to meeting some really cool people that led to an invite to a wicked house party in Quito where many rum and cokes were consumed and windows smashed and the Quito chapter of the Hawthorn Fan Club was started! 3 current members.
