Checked out of our wicked hotel this morning and walked down to Samona Expeditions who we booked our 4 day jungle stay for Lago Agrio through.

After this was done we retrieved our bags from the hotel to make our way to The Secret Garden hostel which is a funky hostel in the Old Town part of Quito. After we checked in and were enjoying the spectacular view from the terrace a fine chap from the UK named Craig was looking for people to make the trip up Volcan Pichincha on the TelerifiQo cable car so we went along for a nice walk up the mountain with some spectacular views, little did we know that 4100m above sea level gets you very tired very quickly! We also met a fine fellow from Sweden called Andreas who was very nice. After we got back to the hostel we were completely knackered so we decided to rest for a little while till dinner at the hostel.

Dinner is a whole new story the meal was fantastic! I have never had turkey so good (sorry mum ;( ) it was like a turkey roll with cheese and some kind of leaf seasoned with herbs and spices washed down with a nice Ecuadorian beer Muy Bien!

After dinner we were chatting with a nice Swedish couple Thomas and Emma before calling it a night and getting our bags packed for the jungle in the morning.
