This evening was the big Christmas light switch on at Nathan Phillips Square in downtown Toronto. They started the evening with a medley of Christmas songs, before going on to illuminate the tree. When they switched on the lights, lots of silver foil floated down from the top of the tree which had eveyone oohing and aahing! They topped off the night with skating on the outdoor ice rink and a huge firework display. This was no ordinary display though; there were people scaling the two city hall buildings and zip-lining between them throughout, whilst covered in bright red flares! The Canadians don't do things by half, that's for sure. They put on a very impressive event, and there was a great atmosphere down there; everyone milling round with hot drinks, trying to keep warm!
