So far I LOVE Rome. Rome is amazing and it still doesn't feel real that I'm in Europe. But at the same time it feels like I've been here for like a month but it's only been 3 nights. It already feels comfortable and like home. This definitely has a lot to do with my great roommates. My roommates are amazing. They are the best girls. We are really really really close already. We have been together for the last few days straight.
I am rooming with Jade (from Davis), and 3 girls are living in another room (Juliette, Ariel from Davis, Gracie from Berkeley). We have a 6th roommate who will be living in a single room but she's not here yet because she was sick all week.
Rome is so beautiful. It's like San Francisco and Seoul because it's a big city that has lots of tight roads with lots of cars, tall building everywhere, and small alleyways everywhere. However, Rome is different because all of its buildings are beautiful with an old style of architecture. Also, the streets are like cobble stone like, so it's hard to where heels (thank goodness I don't where heels anyway). I just take pictures of every random building and fountain (which there are a lot of) and statues (which there even more of).
And the Tiber River is just so gorgeous. We cross it every day to go to class and to get to the main part of Rome (the river is only a 15 minute walk away).
Dad will be so happy to hear to I found a Korean restaurant!!!! It is literally down the street from my apartment. The menu is posted outside and everything is really expensive (like 15 Euro for one dish, which is like $23). I know that if I get really homesick I will eat there (but only when I'm reaaaaallllly homesick, because it's so expensive). I looked through the windows and the restaurant is pretty big, clean, and nice. But I have ever seen a single person eating there, and I've passed by it at least 4 times. So it's so sad to look inside this nice and big Korean restaurant that has zero costumers. But it'll make them happy once I eat there and they get my money!
