The time is flying by these days. I'm not sure whether we're getting busier, more people are arriving or whether I'm just in holiday mode where every day just moulds into one. It's Saturday here and tomorrow we have open day for prospective campers and their families to come and check out the place and see if it's really worth $7000 for 8 weeks.
Apparently I'm on jumping castle duty, which I think will be fun for about 5 mins, after which the novelty value will be wanning. It'll be great to meet some new people and it sure as hell beats whipper snipping.
It was a pretty cruisy day today, with Chris and I wasting all morning finishing off our amazing landscaping at the entrance gate in prep for tomorrow. After knocking off at midday we tucked into lunch, swam a few laps then knuckled down for 4 epic sets of beach volleyball poolside. I think I have more injuries from beach volleyball than from any gardening of maintenance work I've done yet. Despite my best efforts my team lost 3/4 sets...I blame my partners. the one game I did win I traded my Kiwi partner for an Aussie... and what to do you know....
We've had a couple of new people rock up today and yesterday which has changed the group dynamics a little. An israeli guy (isaac) and girl (Mia) arrived today and a Hungarian girl called Beata arrived last night. We all feel really bad for Beata as her english is ok, but it's quite hard to have a conversation plus the rest of us are all quite good friends now. We're all doing our best to make them feel comfortable and are enjoying themselves but language is a far bigger barrier than you'd probably imagine. I can't beleive some people complain about being homesick when they've come from Brisbane or something when these guys have come to a country completely foreign to them and without being able to speak the language fluently. I'm not sure I would be able to do it.
My eyes are literally drooping closed, so I'm off to bed before I manage to delete this all somehow...
