Mike and Nina's Australia and Fiji Trek
Day 2
Well here we are again while you lazy ba#@$*ds are all sleeping. It's a cool 26 degrees with a little over cast here in Cairns. We checked out of our hotel this AM and into our hostel.. I must say that the hostel is cooler than the hotel. We spent the morning drinking coffee (flat whites) and eating croissants and raison toast (aren't we sophisticated? Then we spent the next 2 hours planning the rest of our Aussie vacation. Tomorrow we head to the Great Barrier Reef for some snorkling and scuba diving. The next day we plan to white water raft down the Tulley river, which is said to be the second best WWR in Aus, second only to a river that you must travel by helicopter. From there we make our way to Whitsunday Islands and Fraser Island for a 8 day trip on the water and 4 wheeling in the sand.
We've spent 2 days chilling out and trying to get our heads around Australia and what we want to do here. So far we haven't stayed up past 7PM!! Damned jet lag and sunshine combo. That's it, we're getting drunk tonight (P.S. Beer is cheaper than coffee and Pepsi!!).
In the next few days we'll be heading off to do the not-so-chilled-out-stuff. Updates will be less frequent, but stay tuned. We'll update when we can. Wish us luck!!!!!!!!!
