Thurs 2nd October
We left the Gold Coast and headed inland to a national park today to see some scenery. We went to a waterfall and some lookouts before going to see a natural stone bridge. We got some great photos and were having quite a good day.
However, when we left the natural bridge area we noticed that the light was on which said that a door was open. Michelle went out to close it and noticed that a back door was open (not just half shut as we thought it would be). She then noticed that our wallet was missing. Some thieving gypsies had robbed us! Literally, it was the one time we had forgotten to take our wallet with us and it was robbed, nothing was even on show - it was all hidden under our bed. It was just a couple of k*** heads trying their luck. They also took our little rucksacks which had our ipods in and other personal items which would mean nothing to them (like the USB with all our pictures on).
Anyway, we had to spend the next three hours in a police station. Luckily, Danny had a secret wallet in his suitcase which had a savings account card in. We were able to get Mum Cooper to transfer money from Danny's current account to his savings account so we wouldn't starve. We also hadn't had our passports taken so we were able to avoid an annoying trip to the Embassy.
Once we were out of the police station in Nerang we had had enough with the Gold Coast Hinterland and left for New South Wales and Byron Bay.
Thanks parents, we appreciate all the help you gave us, especially at that time in the morning x
