Big day today. Footy grand finals at home and we are anxiously awaiting the news. Well done to our North Gambier Tigers!!!
We take the Hop on Hop Off bus and do the full loop to get a good look at Istanbul and to also hear the history and information. It's a good round trip across and alongside the Bosphorus and along the old city wall. It's a beautiful day today and while the traffic seems a lot quieter there are thousands of people out and about.
Once again we find ourselves at another bazaar being approached by yet another rug salesman but they are good humoured when we continue to say no.
The cobblestone streets near the Blue Mosque are very steep, narrow and windy. Lots of hotels restaurants and We just happened to pass a bar as the siren sounded for the end of the season for the crows :(
This afternoon we just wandered enjoying the beautiful day had coffee cake and ice cream before heading back to the hotel.
Saturday night in Istanbul is busy. A lot more street vendors on the footpaths and even when having dinner you can't avoid the hawkers.
Tomorrow we leave the Ottoman Imperial Hotel and relocate to the Crown Plaza Harbiye to meet up with our travel group.
