MeznG. In the air, on the road, river or sea again
It's not so humid today so I chose to walk up on deck 17 and Glenn went to the gym. After showers we go to the dining room for breakfast. We are seated at a table for 2 next to the 'Red Hat Ladies'. Not sure if I have mentioned them before but the Red Hat Ladies is a worldwide organization of women over 50. They dress in predominantly purple clothing and red hats. Their philosophy is to enjoy life to the fullest. This is group consist of about 35 ladies from all over America and a couple from Canada. The 2 ladies nearest us are from Texas and California. They are so much fun and share lots of stories of their travels. They have both been to Australia but only Sydney and Melbourne. Not too many people know of or have heard of Adelaide. There is a culinary demonstration by the Executive Chef David McDonald & Maitre d'Hotel Generoso Mazzone in the theatre this morning. It's very entertaining as they bounce off each other while creating 3 Italian inspired dishes. The demonstration is followed by a tour of one of the kitchens. The sun is out so its deck time before lunch and a movie. We have to pack today and put our bags out tonight. During happy hour (between 3 and 4) we are entertained by a very talented string quartet in the Piazza. We complete our packing and go to dinner tonight with 2 couples from Florida and a couple from Calgary in Canada. Conversation is again varied, sometimes controversial and as usual very entertaining. There is no show tonight but still lots of entertainment taking place in some of the bars and on the pool deck. We decide on a movie in our room and get our bags out for collection. We are advised over the PA by the captain that due to someone with a serious medical condition we are going to be heading full speed to Fort Lauderdale and we will arrive there closer to midnight instead of 6 am. No change to disembarking times as they will only seek clearance for the passenger who is ill. The talk around the ship us that 2 passengers have passed away during this cruise! And from all accounts there have been a few falls and gopher roll overs that have kept the medical Centre busy.
