MeznG. In the air, on the road, river or sea again
A full day at sea lies ahead. Overnight we have cruised along the coast of Cuba and the Caribbean islands.
It's a clear sunny day. After a trip to the gym we shower and go to breakfast. At 10am Dean and Lee from PHT have organized a ship orientation tour followed by a visit to their room for a glass of wine and a chat with others from the group.
After a coffee we return to our room to watch the movie 'The 33' about the 33 Chilean miners trapped in a collapsed mine for 67 days. Amazing story and to find out at the end that the mining company was not held responsible for the collapse and that the men received no compensation is incredible.
After a late lunch we put on our bathers and go for some deck time. The Italian Job movie comes on the big screen so we both get stuck watching that and it doesn't finish until after 5.30.
Tonight is formal night. We shower and dress, go to happy hour and onto the early show 'Piano man' music of Elton John, Barry Manilow and Billy Joel.
After the captains toast it is time for dinner.
Tonight we learn that Merridy and Michael were in New York on 9/11. They were on the Hop on Hop off bus on their way to the World Trade Centre when they saw first hand the second plane fly into the tower. It's quite a story and once they made it back to their hotel they were then stuck in New York for a further 6 days waiting for the planes to start flying again.
Another sea day tomorrow. It's ANZAC Day and there will be a service at 10am.
