Hello Everyone!Sorry it has been so long, I have been really busy. This weekend we had sundown at school. This is where the teachers all stay after school and drink. It is pretty crazy to open the fridge in the staff room and see beer and wine. After sundown, I headed to Fremantle Prison. The CMU students took a candle light tour of this prison. It was perfect for Friday the 13th. It was neat to see inside especially since it was only shut down in 1991 after riots. They way the prisoners were living was pretty crude.Saturday morning I went and watched McKenzie, Elyse, and Georgia play field hockey. It really meant a lot to Georgia- she is really good! In fact, she has made it onto the state team and is going to the school Olympics in December.Saturday afternoon, CMU went to a footie game. I loved watching the players. Footie here is a lot different than our football. It is played in 4, 30 minute quarters where the clock never stops. Someone even got hurt on the field and they just played around them. Fremantle Dockers is the local team and thankfully they won which made it even more fun! The weather was also absolutely beautiful. Saturday night we headed back to Subiaco to celebrate the Docker's win. It was a very posh town with nice pubs. Sunday we went and did aboriginal paintings. They turned out pretty good and I really like the idea of having a story behind everything painted. This week is a short week. Thursday I am doing observations at another high school. It is supposed to be pretty rough, but a learning experience. The kids here get away with a lot more and can be very disrespectful, even in the Catholic school. Friday I am going to the Pinnacles desert which is about one and a half hours north of here. It looks really cool. Saturday will be last minute things in the city and Sunday some time packing. I leave in little over a week and then its vacation time!
