Greetings from down under!Happy Memorial Day Weekend! Any special plans? We tried getting the day off school, didn't really work all that well.It is finally starting to feel like fall around here. It is getting pretty chilly at night, even talks of frost. During the day it is still really nice, in the 70's but a lot of rain. I am beginning to think Noah might be coming with his ark. This weekend was busy. Friday night we had a sleepover party. I had another CMU student come and stay with us and the rest of the girls had friends over too. We watched game 2 of the Pistons and then we lost power so we had a euchre tournament by candlelight.Saturday we went to Fremantle which is south of Perth on the coast. This is one of the first settlements in Western Australia. It is were Europe sent its convicts to. There is some nice markets and cafes so we shopped and ate delicious food. When you order French fries or wedges here they come with sour cream and sweet chili sauce. It is so good!Saturday night was Georgia's birthday party. We had 25 7th graders running around the house playing games. The theme was come dressed as something that starts with the first letter of your name. I went was Mickey Mouse. On Sunday, Grant and Sandra took me up north to Hillary's. This is a giant marina with lots of shops and AQWA- an aquarium. It was cool to see such colourful coral. They also had a touch pool. I liked watching McKenzie and Elyse get so excited about the animals. We also ate lunch at Hillary's- a buffet. Sunday night I watched McKenzie and Elyse while Grant and Sandra went out. We watched a little Rugby and then the 3rd Pistons game. It was a nice quiet night. This is a short week. I have my second observation today- should be no big deal. Thursday we are going out to our supervisor's house for dinner and Pistons and then Friday morning I leave for Pemberton. My host family has an avocado farm down there so we are going to stay there for 4 days. There are also lots of wineries and shops around down there. It should be interesting since Sandra and Georgia aren't going so I will have less reinforcement with the little ones. Hope everything is going well!
