Although we were really tired from the safari on fraser we had heard good reports of whale watching the area so decided to go whale watching for the day, This was the best 100$ we have spent so far! We saw lots of whales along with there young. It was a really long day but we had great company on the boat and we just couldnt believe how close the whales came up to the boat. It was really humbling to get so close to nature and see whales in there natural habitat! pics to follow!

Today we left Hervey bay for our overnight stop at Rainbow Beach. We checked into our hostel then went for a walk to see what was about and have some tea. We were amazed to find that Rainbow was such a small little place it consisted of 4 places to eat and 3 shops! We were glad we were only staying for one night as we would have been really bored here as there is not much to do at all!!! We had a few drinks in the bar before heading to bed as we had to be up early to catch the bus to Noosa the following day.
We arrived in Noosa and got picked up by the couresty bus where we were staying. We checked into the Resort and got driven around to our room. We could not beleive our eys when we where shown around for the same price as a hostel we were given our very own apartment for 2 nights! We had a bedroom bathroom with towels along with a fully fitted kitchen with a tv massive sofa and a table and chairs!!! Not only did we get this but there was a swimming pool just outside of our room for us to use aswell!! We headed back into town went on the net then went to the supermarket to get some food for tea. We cooked this then all crashed out on the sofa watching the tv!! It was lovely to have our own space knowing that the next stop we would be looking for work!

Today Leanne, Amy and Rachel headed off for the Australian Zoo (Steve Irwins zoo) to check out all the crocs and animals that he had saved along his life time. We watched a show in the world famous Crocosium which starred one of Steves favourite Crocs Graham along with a bird show and a dvd of Steve. We had a good look around the zoo we fed elephants and read some of the letters the fans had sent for the family at the time Steve unfortunatly died. This was very humbling. Megan on the other hand took herself off on a walk around the Noosa National Park, there was lots of trails you could do where you could see wild koalas. Megan took the walk which was one and a half hours, there was some amazing trees and rainforest it was very peaceful and quiet it was lovely! We then all met up in town and went for a walk around the very posh shops of Noosa which none of us could afford but no harm in window shopping hey? We headed back to the apartment where we celebrated Rachels birthday with chocolate cake after tea and sat down to watch Australian Idol!

Today we caught the bus to Brisbane. After a short journey we checked into our hostel and then went on a search to find a cheaper one to stay in to find they all are about the same so we decided to stay put. We all headed off to Peterpans to use the net where we met up with a girl who was on the same boat as us on the Whitsundays. She took us on a lovely walk around Brisbane as she had been here a few days and wanted to show us the ropes! This was a long but well worth the walk we went through the botanical gardens and over a few bridges where we took some amazing pictures of the city at dusk!
24th Today
So today we have been searching for work which has proven to be more difficult than first thought. We thought being in a city would make it easier but this is not true as alot of backpackers are searching for jobs in the same area and its knowing where to look for them thats the key. So we are currently debating on whether to stay past friday. The serach is still underway!!!!
Hope everyone is well
Take care
