Checked out of our motel at 10 am prompt and headed north to Wanaka and Puzzling World. Waking up early we wanted to get on the slopes of the Remarkables by opening at 9am. It was a 45 minute drive up a steep and windy road that recommended snow chains (unfortunately we wouldn't even no how to fit then if we had them - don't tell rent-a-dent :). In the morning we continued our journey South. Passing by Lake Tekapo, we stopped to look at a church with the 'best view in the world'. It was positioned to overlook the length of the lake, with the Southern Alps for a backdrop. There was also a statue of a sheep dog to keep an eye on things. Woke up and headed straight to the first tea and pie cafe we saw. Yum Yum! Heading in to Christchurch we were looking for the International Antarctic Centre where all expeditions to the Antarctic depart from. They also have a tourism wing where one can learn about and experience life in the Antarctic.
