holla amigos from the amazon basin!!!(yes they have computers there)
im writing this blog after being stood up AGAIN by the guys from the monkey sanctuary! but we will get to that later!
the bus to rurrenaque from la paz was ment to be the bus from hell but we did not find it much of a problem at all appart from having a crash with a car(we where in a bus! guess who had the most damage) this was just at the edge of a cliff! no big deal! later on in the journey we encounterd some very very bumpy roads that nearly sent us flying through the roof!
anyway! we got there safely and checked into a hostel with lots and lots of hammocks that also gave away FREE bananas! but on the first night we did not make our selves very popular as we had to steal a clock off the wall so we knew the time otherwise we would not beable to wake up i the morning in time for our pampas tour (which turned out to be cancelled anyway due to not enough people signing up). in the morning we where awoken by a woman knocking on our door asking for a clock that had mysteriously gone missing! it turns out that she knocked on everyones in the hostels door and woke them all up at about 7 o clock in the morning! max eventually snook the clock back on the hook but was caught by anouther travveler who didnt hesitate to tell all her mates about it!
so as our pampas tour was cancelled we where stook with nothing to do so we made the most of the free bananas and hammocks and read books all day while napping inbetween!
the next day we woke up early without the aid of the clock but with the aid of maxes camera that turned out to have a clock on it! we met up with our tour guide and our fellow travvelers that where going on the tour with us. there where 3 germans (2 boys one girl) and one very typical french guy!
we set off on the tour in a jeep with very uncomfortable seats and not much space up a really bumpy really long road to finally arrive at the river!(after allot of missunterstanding of a yorkshiire accent by the french guy who had only just learned english! in austrialia!) from the river we got a long boat and made our way to our eco lodge! on the way we came across many animals such as alligators, camen and pink dolphins!
we arrived at our ecolodge after 3 hours of looking at wildlife on the river! then after a little rest we went to sun set bar just allong the river to watch the sun set and grab some cervesas! after sunset we set back to the hostel allong the river to look for gators in the dark! our guide picked one out of edge of the river and we all got a chance to touch it!(after max having a wee off the edge of the boat after nearly actually bursting on search!)
on the next day we woke up early and went to a field to hunt for anacondas! in the most depressingly boggy field ever we trudged through looking for this anaconda that i dont think the guide thourt we where going to find! BUT! in a true moment of heroism i herd a loud yelp from max and saw him come running towards me screaming "AHH AN ANACONDA!!!!!!" we shouted over the guide and he was suprised to see we had stumbbled across an anaconda we all got to hold it and it stunk!
in the afternoon we went swimming with the dolphins! the bit i was looking forward to most! although some people didnt get in we got to swimm allongside the dolphins! ( i say allongside i think we actually scared them down river wen we jumped in!) after the dolphin swimmign we had a long session on the rope swing that was just swinnging into the river outside our hostel! at the night we did much of the same as the night before excluding the gater hunt!
we woke up early the next morning to go fishing for piranas that turned out to be very unsuccessfull for me an max only managing to catch some reeds! nice! the guide however caught about 4 piranas! gotta be fixed!
after the pirana fishing max and i tryed to have anouther go on the ropswing but because we are such little weaklings we couldnt grip onto the swimg and just fell in the water face first! ouch! after this with very sore faces we set off back and arrived after a long journey back to rurrenbaque!
that night we went out for tea and drinks with the rest of our group members and swapped contacts and said our goodbyes! all very very very itchy after the mauling from the moskitos!
the have spent the last week in rurrenbaque doing not much at all so we are getting the bus back tomorrow to la paz to get back in time for the midget wrestling!
hope every1s good
