Alright Sheila.. or Bruce..
Look at moi - look at moi.. Kim I have one word to say to you..
Well i think i'm starting to settle into Sydney life now - all is going good. We have started to meet people through our jobs and from the building we are living in which is always nice. I also dont have to walk around the city with my eyes glued to a map all the time anymore.. although I do still do that sometimes.
I have a job, bloody oath Sheila I have a job! Don't know who this Sheila is. Anyway I am working right near the Sydney harbour bridge which is nice - i think from my building you can see the bridge and the water but from my part you see nothing. We are stuck at the back and its just fellow travellers and other temps. We are the ones people choose to ignore. Now this job is actually the most boring job I have EVER done in my LIFE! Its processing cash back forms for Hewlett Packard! Oh my god it makes me go insane when im there! I've only been there 3 weeks nearly - got about another 2 to go i think on the contract - thank god or i might lose the plot. And no one talks! On the plus side though it pays well and allows me to do things. So i got my haircut (a much better haircut than the dodgy 1 in the DVD shop in Fiji). And i bought some socks.. woo hoo moving up in the world! I shall hopefully get another job after that which should last me up until around November time.
Where we live is nice - just down 1 road is Newtown which is kind of like a Chorlton type place - loads of shops, bars and mmm goood ice cream shops! Its really cool but without trying too hard.
Down another road is Leichardt or otherwise known as Little Italy. This is ace and I cant wait to go there more when the weather is hot. Its basically just - like walking into italy - loads of places to eat and live music in a little square area. I like it!
Then literally right across the road is the Oxford Tavern - with Topless Tuesdays and Thursdays and all day pole dancing on a friday! Haha.. full of VERY dodgy looking characters.
Since we have been here we went to a house party where the place was full of musicians and so i pretended I was a classical harpist to everyone (Mark told me to tell everyone I liked the music of Reval or someone but I kept telling everone I was into Rennie by mistake). Think I had a few of them fooled though!!
Another night we went out a met the Legend that is BOX. Box is a woman - probably in her 50's who was dancing on her own in a bar we were at. She had Simon Cowell trousers pulled up to her mad flowery top. She was Croation and everytime we asked her her name she just mumbled something we couldnt understand and drew a box shape in the air. So Box was her name. She kept trying to light up in the club in the corner. In the end she went to the toilets and lit up in there and then got chucked out by the bouncer. I need to find this woman again!
Other than that we went to Cockatoo Island which is an Island which has an old Prison on it. It was really cool and while we were there it had an art exhibition on. It was interesting to look round apart from the psycho birds making horrible screeching noises!
All around the Opera House and the harbour is really nice and soon when we all have high powered, high paying jobs, we shall all sit there in the sun after work sipping schooners of beer like the Pommes that we are! Mwahahaha! x
