Hello all, haven't heard from me in a while I know!! Well I'm still in one piece, currently in Bangkok again for one night and one night only, then I am heading back down to the Islands, South Thailand...
I have spent the last week on an idyllic island called Ko Phangan, which is one of a cluster of islands boasting white sandy beaches and tranquil clear green waters. And after a few nights with Chris and his disasterous ways, and some good old fashioned English binge drinking, it was time to chill out in a beach bungalow and the nicest resteraunt serving the best value amazingly tasty food! All, must I add, overlooking the stunning postcard perfect beach!
During the schorching days, it was peace on earth however once the night began, the noise began! It was like living inside a nightclub, the music pounded all night 'til 7am!! However after a few beers we were out for the count, oblivious!
Next I travelled North to Bangkok to escort Kirsty to the airport and to try my hand, and feet and elbows and knees at a bit of Thai Boxing... The journey north was so much fun, we took an overnight train! It was a carriage of bunk beds, and it was like being a little kid again, making a den and hiding in it for the world not to see! We both had a very good sleep and when we woke up everyone else was already awake. It was such a surreal feeling as I looked out of our bunk to see a thai man reading the morning paper and it was almost embarrassing as everyone's beds had been turned back into seats as normal! Apart from ours!!
I am having an early night tonight, Kirsty has caught her flight to Malaysia, I hope to catch up with her in a couple of weeks. Tomorrow morning I begin Muay Thai Boxing training at the world famous Bangkok training centre, looks quite intense, but I'm sure I can handle it!
Fun fun fun was had with Chris, we headed north after meeting up in Bangkok. To a place called Chaing Mai, where we trekked for 3 days in the jungle, we rode elephants too!! We also went to the tiger temple and had our pictures taken with live tigers!! We also did our bit of historical sightseeing and walked across the Bridge over river Kwai!! So much history!! Chris also had a close encounter with a lady boy.
Anyways that's me for now, I will check in again in a week or so, putting up pictures as i write this! Hope everyone is well!
