My Australia Fun
Hello everyone! Time for another thrilling journal entry. I'm in Darwin now, but before I get ahead of myself I guess I should describe my last week in Perth. The hostel wasn't as bad as I feared it might have been. I buddied up with one of the guys in my room and a couple of Dutch girls, so I wasn't lonely. We went out at the weekend - paid $10 each and got an absolutely huge bar tab, so naturally we all took full advantage and I went to bed at about 7am. They know how to do things properly in Perth. I must have covered every square inch of Perth city centre in that week, I was beginning to run out of things to do. I went to a national park which was about a 10 minute walk outside the city, right on the bank of the Swan river, which was beautiful (and absolutely massive). Went out for a farewell meal with my new buddies as well, which was nice. I tried vaguely to look for a job, but the best I could get seemed to be telesales jobs looking for 'fun and enthusiastic people!!!!!!' so I think the time was right to move on. So, I flew to Darwin on Wednesday, via Alice Springs, which was probably the best airport in the world. The views from the plane on the way there were stunning, and we caught a glimpse of Uluru as well. The airport is just in the middle of absolutely nowhere, it was eerie. When I landed, it was about 7pm and the humidity just slapped me round the face when I got off the plane. I think it was about 28 degrees. It's morning now and it's around 30 degrees, with not a cloud in the sky. It's nice at the moment, but I've a feeling it might start to get unbearable... Hostel has a pool though, so that's a bonus. Been out the last couple of nights with a British girl (Hannah) in my dorm, so that's good. We go to a pub that does meals for $1 - brilliant! Hannah went on a tour and the guide was in the pub, and he offered to take me on the same tour if I bought him a bottle of vodka (it would normally cost $100). So I may well take him up on his generous offer in the next couple of days!
Well, that's about it....I'm job hunting again at the moment, but, as per usual, I'm taking it nice and casually!
