My Australia Fun
Hello everyone. Thought it was about time there was another little update. I've just spent the last 10 days or so with Lauren and Steve in Rockingham. Since they'll probably read this at some point, I guess I should only say nice things (although I wouldn't even want to say a nasty word about either of them). I had a really good time, it was like a mini-holiday - most of the time I slept in late in a very comfy double bed, doing what I wanted round the house. Not exactly the best preparation for the realities of hostel life, but I'm not complaining. I reckon I probably doubled the number of barbecues I've ever had in the last week alone, so I was fed very well. Went out on ANZAC day with all of Steve's mates in Fremantle for a bit of boozing, and luckily didn't manage to make a fool of myself (bit of a bonus). I also went on a couple of mini-adventures of my own to Mandurah and Freo again. Looked around the jail there (the Australians like their jails, I'm finding out) and did the touristy thing. And as you will see on the photos page, Steve took me to a national park where I met my mate Thomas the koala bear and an unnamed kangaroo. I was desperate to touch a kangaroo, so I can tick that off the 'things to do' list.
I'm now staying at a hostel in Perth for the next week while I plan what to do with myself. The real trip starts now I guess - I've been abandoned and left to fend for myself for the time being! Haven't met anyone else in my dorm room yet (it sleeps 6), so hopefully they aren't all psychopaths. I may start to look at jobs tomorrow, it'll give me something to do during the day. Weather has been consistently brilliant, it was sunny and about 23 degrees today. If I plan my travels right, I should be able to avoid rubbishy weather altogether!
Have got my mobile back, number is on the site somewhere. Under 'contact details' I think.
That's all for now, I need to plan my tea - supermarket here I come!
