Staying at Nubeena (12 kms) from Port Arthur. Spent the day wandering around the scenic area. We were given a activity pack for Spencer and he loved it and learnt so much from our guide ,Colin. Step back in time it must have been horrific to have been sent there all those years ago. It was very well organised with a harbour cruise as well.
On the way out of the area we stopped at Eaglehawk neck, there was a blowhole and the most spectacular lookouts. Then it was off towards Hobart with a stop at Sorrell to get a new phone for me- Ben's hand me down died a sudden death........ You can contact me again.
At Nubeena RSL club (we are staying in the car park area) the owner showed me photos of the radio that Grampy and a Max Loveless made during the war..... Now in Ausr. War Memorial......unbelievable.
We are staying in Franklin and have just come home from doing the Tahune air walk...... Spencer even did a hang glide over the river(Huon), very cool, he just wanted to do more. The air walk was extremely daunting, especially the end cantilevered section just held by cables..Comet didn't like the swinging bridges and I had to carry him over those. We then drove down to Dover, possibly the furthest south we will go.
