So the trip over was ,11 hours of worrying about how the dog was, holed up in his cage. It wasn't too rough and we got in to Devonport at 7:30 ish so it was a happy dog to collect and off the boat to drive a few k's to la Trobe. We had decided on this place because it was free, close ,and getting late..... Only to get there and there was a sign saying" asphalting in progress for the Monday 29 th overnight" we didn't care and I had the best night sleep thus far. Off in the morning driving through Launceston and on towards st Helens, and " the bay of fires" Incredibly scenic drive, bit of drizzle, lovely rainforest patches and very windy roads. Got to the bay of fires and set up in "cosy north corner" great position with a view to the water, "it's free" got to love that and the hybrid toilet facilities are clean and good- even better.
The beach is fine white sand and turquoise waters with brilliant red rocks jutting out , spectacular. The water is soooo clear, we were all in and out yesterday as it was about 30 degrees. Spencer hooked into some schoolwork, interspersed with swims and food ,what a school life.
We are in at St Helens using their free wifi and are about to go and check out some farm gate produce and maybe get a fish or kayak in..... Hard life !
