Welcome back!!
Lazy Sunday in the heat! Forgot the camera so will update the photo albums later this arvo. Works going well. Been pretty flat out this week and have done quite a bit of over time but is good to do as getting paid hourly. For those reading this in the travel industry I'm learning the other CRS systems, both Amadeus and Galileo, and am getting to know there advantages are disadvantages. Definitely prefer Sabre though after seeing what the others have to offer.
Took the train down to the Gold Coast yesterday with Jamie and one of our flat mates, Mark from Canada. It reached 42 degrees apparently. Certainly felt something close to that. Chilled out on the beach for most of the day. They've had monsoons in Queensland for the most of last week and it reflected in the 4 metre waves they've had most of the week, which gouged big banks of sand.. Wasn't quite that big yesterday but still well over our heads. The beaches were packed, as is to be expected for the Gold Coast in 40 degrees haha. Jamie tried testing out the durability of her waterproof/sandproof camera she brought in the States by taking it out in the surf with us. Got some pretty awesome pictures, along with some strange looks from other swimmers. A few of them even decided to warn Jamie that she was getting her camera wet, obviously thinking Jamie didn't know. Was good for a laugh. Will include some of those photos later.
Had drinks Friday night at our place and got to know some of the newbies to the flat. As I said earlier we now have Mark from Canada. Had a few come up from downstairs to join in as well as had lots of laughs. Were still going at midnight when it was 28 degrees. Beers didn't stay cold long though.
Discovering more highlights of the suburb around us. Been tending to go to the movies at least once a week down in South Bank as it gives us at least two hours in the air conditioning. It also has the biggest screen in Brisbane and is so cheap compared to back home. Its $7.90 for an adult and only $6.80 if you go on a Sunday night. Even cheaper again for our flatmates who are students at $5.00. Couldn't believe it after having to pay no less than $15.00 back home to see a movie.
A fairly quiet week otherwise. Update again soon.
