Today we left Rome and headed for Florence *our main destination*. On the way to Florence we took a few hours and stopped off at Orvieto which is an old medival town. Once we left Orvieto we traveled on the train towards Florence, we were excited to sit in first class on the train : air conditioning and comfortable seats. Once we got to Florence, we snagged a taxi and headed off for our hotel that was near the Duomo. I could not believe the view we had of the Duomo and Gioto's tour from our hotel room. We got settled into our bed and breakfast/hotel room and set off to explore florence and find a light bite for dinner. The first night in Florence was a sucess.
