Well today lets just say that I'm glad that I was smart and wore tennis shoes.. on the other hand it was hot as hell in jeans. Today was very interesting for all of us. It began as we once again got on the bus by 7:30 am and headed off for another field trip. This time we didnt really know what we were getting ourselves into with the field trip. We first stopped at the bottom of this georgious hill and looked up at the beautiful city above us.. the joke was that we were then going to walk all the way to the top.. it was nice walking for the most part in the shade until we were almost walking straight up the hillside it felt like. We then were able to walk through the town and just hang out for a little while. We were all happy to walk down hill for a change on the way back. We reached the bottom once again and we were told by our instructors that a bus would be picking us up so we didnt have to walk back but boy where they wrong.. they changed their minds because we all wouldn't fit on the bus and we didnt have time to take a couple of trips so we were once again walking uphill to the top to our private bus. We eventually made it. Once we were back on the bus we were then on our way to Orvieto which is one of the most famous medival towns. Our first stop in this town was to go to Saint Patricks Well, this well was amazing.. total its 248 steps down and 248 steps up to the top and as you walk down it has over 70 cut out windows-- as you walk down and up the other side, its made in the form of a double helix so your never in a traffic jam and runing into the same people.. as you make it to the bottom you walk across a bridge to get to the other side and you begin the hike of 248 steps back to the top. It was really pretty and so cute to look into all of the shops.. I found a shop that I loved but was sad to find out that the cheapest priced item was at least a minimum of 85 euro; it kind of broke my heart because it was a leather shop filled with purses, shoes, bracelets.. everything. I finally bargained down the price of a leather bracelet for 10 euro. I was so happy to have at least a little piece of something that was real leather. It was then time for lunch... we were all starving so we bit the bullet and paid for a sit down lunch.. I had the best sausage sandwhich ever, only for 3 euros I thought my lunch would be rather cheap but that wasn't the case when I recieved the bill.. a $6 coke... yikes. Well either way it was a great relaxing lunch. Then it was time to visit one of the most amazing churches (on the outside) the inside looked just the same as the outside and so it kind of took away from the beauty... black and white stripped bricks! Once we had a 15 minute walk through the church we were then rushed back to the bus and were on our way home to Ariccia.. 2 hours later we arrived home and saw that yet another wedding was going on across the street. Apparently in Europe, people have weddings on any day of the week and sometimes multiple ones in a day... litterally since we have been here there has been at least 1 wedding a day. Well since it's a national holiday here, everything is closed for the day which means no open places for dinner.. so it's once again time for a turkey sandwhich....
