An adventure to a place that I've heard of... Windsor Castle. It was really neat and interesting - not to mention The Queen was there, like we were breathing the same air.
Anyways, you should check out my photos on Facebook because my words just won't be able to describe the beauty of such a highly respectable place. The town was very pretty and the weather was almost perfect. It was a bit windy, but the sun was shining.
The parts that we could take pictures of were filled with stone walls, green grass, waterfalls, and benches to overlook all of this. So much detail had gone into building the castle and it's landscape, I'm not sure we took enough time to admire it. The Castle overlooked the Thames River and the rest of the town. We also visited the Doll House and the Apartments. Of course, no pictures were allowed in either of these, but a few happened to show up on my camera? :) The doll house was exactly what every little girl dreams of! It was huge and filled with everything imaginable. I'm pretty sure the maids bedroom and toilets were nicer than mine here at Uni. The dolls were picture perfect and their outfits were adorable! There was every outfit from playing outside, to school, to dinner, to bedtime. The apartments were ridiculous! The rooms were filled with different paintings and portraits, furniture, flooring, and different styles of decorating. The fine China was beautiful, it sort of reminded me on the tiny cabinet grandma Hoover has in her dining room. One day I will have a canopy bed, just like the Queen's.
Windsor Castle was a lot of fun. The group I went with was a lot of fun. We enjoyed the serious moments together, but then we laughed at our crazy mistakes - Kels forgetting her water and sandwich, and Luis falling right off the curb. We sit down for our sack-lunches, Kels goes to grab hers, and realizes it's still in Cheltenham, on her worktop. She survived for the time off of a chocolate bar. Then, we leave the castle and head towards town so do some shopping. We go to step into a little shop, the typical 6 inch step, and Luis just goes down - what!?! Thankfully Kelsey was there to stop her fall, and I attempted. Thank you Kelsey for watching and laughing. (haha). mmm. Then, Kelsie and I enjoyed some delicious "Nutella Bear" ice cream. :) We got our photo taken with this gorgeous man workin' the street for some advertising - not important - all that matters is he was handsome. Toilets were impossible to find, and we had to cross through the "Bachelors Park." hmm. To pass the time, we enjoyed some shopping and just walking around the area. Then, we went to the river and watched the ducks and swans play in the water while different boats and kayak's were out and about. I'm pretty sure we took more pictures of the swans than we did of anything else. I had to delete over half my photos because they were all of the same or similar-looking swan. But, it was really pretty needless to say.
Right, so Windsor Castle was quite fun. :) I enjoyed a nice adventure out of Cheltenham. But, being "home" has never felt so nice. We recently just finished our BCA classes (the program I'm here through), so now I must get on writing 2 papers and finishing the quizzes. It's sort of a bitter sweet idea really. We also had an ABC Party on Friday night. (anything but clothing). I went in a newspaper dress that took Georgie, Soph and I about three hours to make. It was so much fun to make, but didn't last long. I had technical difficulties throughout the night, and still managed to be the most clothed! It was a really good night out - I definitely needed it.
The family has been here this week, so be looking forward to that blog sometime next week. We are leaving tomorrow for the weekend in London! :)
G'night.
