Woke up to a cold shower, quite refreshing as it is quite warm in the room and it definitely wakes you up!
Had some breakfast and as the sun was shining decided to have some beach time. Chose a lovely spot right in front the surfers (well I need something to look at whilst trying to catch some rays). Ended up looking like some kind of endangered animal as parts of me are bronzed other red- did a bit of a shoddy job with the sun tan lotion I think.
Decided today was the day to see the big man himself- Christ! However me being me I got lost and that was when using the buses- rio is confusing! Ended up in leme and walked along the copacobana- I do not like at all and it made me quite glad I am staying in a favela! Felt much rougher and so many pushy people! Had some lunch and then tried bus 2- took a while but success there I was stood at the bottom of Corcovado! It is mental here do many tourists that think they are the most important beings in the world- I don't think so. Got the cog train up which was really cute- there would of been some amazing views if it wasn't for these guys in a tour group standing up in front of the windows because their seats next to the windows were just not good enough!
Got the top and the views were fantastic. It made sugar loaf look tiny! Tried to get some handy pictures of me taken by me! Double chins galore! Was going to go to Lapa to watch some samba but it was already dark and me and buses = disaster plus I am still a bit scared of rio and don't want to get lost at night!!
Another thing I have learnt in rio is there is no such thing as an average Brazilian. They are either truly beautiful or truly not!
