Day 4, York to Brookton, 79km.
First of all let me just set the scene. I'm sitting in the laundry room (not really a room, only 3 walls) of a hill-billy caravan park sheltering from the 39C heat and the flies. The flies seem to refuse to come in here even though I'm easy game. I think its because they know this place is the equivalent of the elephant graveyard but for flies. Many a fly has died in here by what means is hidden behind all the machines. I'm sweating my bloody t*** off and am feeling very aggravated by the temp even though I had a really good ride this morning and managed to get further than I had planned.
I left York caravan park at about 7 and made my way back onto the Great Southern highway. I had planned to bunny hop down to the next town, Beverly, which was 40km away. Soon enough I rolled into what they class as a town over here, I would call it a street. With such good progress due to the roads being really flat I decided to double down and get to the next town, which was another 35km away. The bulk of the ride was pretty uneventful and boring. I was told the day before that the harvest was a couple of weeks ago so the roads should be quiet. Sure enough the roads were quiet and I rode past masses of parched and fallow wheat fields. The most interesting thing I saw all day, actually one of two interesting things I saw all day, was the massive wheat exchange (blog picture). I think it must be where all the wheat from this area is loaded onto trains which then goes to Fremantle harbour destined for the global market. The other interesting thing I witnessed was a branch fall off a tree and disintegrate into dust. A few seconds later and it would of disintegrated on my head. See, everyone warning me about snakes and spiders but the real killer is falling debris! I couldn't figure out if it was the wind or a devious crow that I witnessed flying away from the scene at the time but I'm keeping my wits about me if I see anymore crows.
Soon enough I arrived in Brookton at around 11am. It was a boring but good days ride, need to get used to them! I'm happy that I managed to skip a town which saves me time and money. More of the same tomorrow as I want to reach the Highbury tavern, want to see if it's got anything to do with Arsenal, if not I will make it so. Also going to sleep there as I want a night of aircon so I can do some big km's the next day.

Jane and Chris After your expereince on the Mundi Biddi trail, we think you should ditch the pushbike and get a Harley! Thank goodness you saw sense and decided to change the route. Stay safe.
Chris Connett Lucas Pedonski is coming to Highbury. Keep a look out for him - he may have gone to the wrong one.
