Hello everyone!
Had jampacked few weeks - lots and lots of travelling - currently in Siem Reap - got up at 4:30 this morning to see the sunrise in Angkor Wat - really amazing but its only midday now and everybodies really tired! Spent the past two nights in Phnom Pehn which I loved - Cambodia is such a great country - everyone's far more relaxed here than in Vietnam. Went to the killing fields the other day - extremely emotionally draining experience - really moving - we had a tour guide whose 5 brothers and sisters and father had been killed under Pol Pots regime. Over 50% of the city is under the age of 17 as such a huge percentage of the population was killled or forced out during the regime so the city has quite a different feel from anywhere else we've been. Lots of poverty everywhere - its scary how quickly it becomes normal to ignore beggers etc and see people living in terrible conditions.
Absolutely boiling hot here - makes a nice change from the ridiculous rain in Vietnam (China beack looked like a war site due to all the storms!) - I lived in a silly pink poncho for most of my time in Hoi An ( a very sleepy river town (which was very flooded for my stay) its a shoppers heaven - anything you want tailored in less than a day at dirt cheap prices - made to measure tailored suit for 60 quid - unfortunately I had no room in my bag!) Saigon was great too although didn't get to explore it as much as I'd have liked due to the rain....
Hanny, Ben, G&J - Went to a Raji Yoga session yesterday - a very different experience from Bridgette's class - spent most of the time trying to kill the mosquitos that were everywhere!
Right off for some market shopping and lunch - leave cambodia for Bangkok on Sunday - it apparently a very bumpy jourey so I'm stocking up on travel sickness tablets!
Lots of Love to everyone xxx
ps thanks for all your messages - keep sending them!
