Today was much more sunny, after a night with our new roomies we set off toward the piazza michaelangelo which has the best view of the city. It was a steep climb but was worth it. Nothing in Florence is allowed to be over the height of the Duomo, which is the dome which you can see in the pictures. We are going to go up into that tomorrow. Once at the top we sat in the shade and looked out at the view, it was a lovely way to relax, we had found a quiet spot up the steps of the church, but a couple of levels down it was crowded due to the 8 weddings on the same patio. We could not work out what was going on but 8 Chinese brides were wondering around taking it in turns to throw confetti and be in photos... 2 of them even came in the same car. The guests seemed to be guests at all 8 and some brides were taking pictures of the others on their phones. It was really very very odd. They seemed to be enjoying themselves, even when the groom from one wedding party caught the flowers being thrown to the bridesmaids in a different one. I actually have an action shot of this so see photos!
We then found a lovely cafe and had some lunch. We told the waiter we were from 'north of london' and he replied 'Milton keynes?'. We were pretty surprised, I guess it's reputation for the concrete cows in midsummer place has really put it on the map.
After tiramisu we came back home and speedily got onto the terrace to read our books. Trying to spend as little time as possible in the room as sharing with 7 others is just awkward and makes me feel like I can't relax! Everyone spends hours whispering unnecessarily in the morning as we can't tell if everyone is awake due to the divides. We are sharing with a very 'popular' Essex girl whose Aussie friends like to come visit and speak about us. I quote; 'I dont give a s*** about them, I'm never going to see them again'... When someone asked if we minded her being on skype at 9am. She forgets that we share a bus... So yes I think we have decided we dont like to share but it's all a good experience! New people come tonight so hopefully we will meet someone nice. (Cue a Graham Holt anecdote about sharing bunkbeds with 50 men on a sinking ship in shark infested waters or something.. I know it could be worse!)
Off to see michaelangelo's 'David' tonight. Queues are much quieter late so we will be going about 11. Will try and get a sneaky picture of the perfect man! :)

Mummy At lastwe have made contact. We are missing you both so much. The blogs are amazing. I really am so impressed. Am having to do this so fast because the internet is so expensive here. So this is a message for G&D as well. It is absolute paradise (cue G Holt story about visiting CV in 1952 with a battleship). The onlydecisions we have to mae are beach or pool and which restaurant to eat in. Absolute luxury. It could not be more different from your holiday. The only thing we have in common is the gorgeous weather. The girls are having a lovely time. We are all very brown. And reading and eating a lot. We´ll go on again in a few days. We had so m uch to read we are running out of time. We loveyou all very much. And can´t wait to see you xxxxxx

Dave Woo! CV keyboard have the @ button on atlgr 2! Weird. And a ñ key! What ios hse talking about us having the same weather as you. We have had no rain! Cloudy humid hot. Glad to hear you are going to see the perfect man: David. Modelled on me of course. on´t let Minty get too jealous. Your picture of the pantheon with the shaft of light is almost exactly like one I took which you can see on my G+ thread. DON´T give any Aussies our address or we´ll be playing host to back packers for the next ten years. Yuour mum keeps talking to me as I´m trying to type. She says Australians, besides Issy´s dad James, are all awful. We remember our bus trip last year. They don´t get better with age. I can´t believe I am typing this racist rant from her. I quite fancy Germiane Greer. Note to Simon: carry on making such a good job of looking after the dog. To G&D: Hope you are both well. Everythuing has gone well here and we hope you are having a lovely time in Huntingdon. Lots of love Dave (with lots of help from Steph: I never told her what to say when she got her bit).
G+D Glad to hear we're all linked up. Never had such variety, Chinese weddings et al. Must be rough in CV making all those decisions re pools & meals. Keep out of the sun. That is an order. Cormack has a full time job looking after D and I . No more patients reqd. Simon kept quiet about how he put Monty in a leather bag and used him for rugger training.. I jest I jest. Love to all then. Be Happy, G and D
Simbad Lucy, if you want a picture of the perfect man, do not be embarrassed to ask your brother. I won't charge/make it awkward.
