Day 5
So the trek begins, ok so we arrive at the elephant camp - for the fun bit. Bought some bananas for the elephant but our one was fussy and didnt like them as they were too green so we had to buy more yellow ones lol. It was really fun and lasted bout a hour, went through bit of th ejungle and a baby elephant (bout a year old) followed his mum and kept being naughty and playing in the trees. Went through a bit of water and the elephant got us a bit wet lol. Also saw another baby elephant was only 2 months - and it was soooo cute. After this we have lunch, potato curry and rice, and then water melon and pineapple for dessert - actually enjoyed this. And then it began ..... the night mare of treking that is. Oh my god - been walking bout 5 mins and started to climb a very steep climp - it was so hard and so much hard work. One of the treking tour guides (we had 2 and bout 11 of us on the trip) gave me a stick to help me -lol all though the only thing that realisticly would of helped would of been a PLANE to get me to the top of - where we set up camp. Anyway lots more steepness and me thinking I cant do this. Got to a beautiful but freezing waterful - which was lovely to go in and cool down.
Got to the hill tribe family where we were to stay the night. They had like one room made out of bamboo and other wood (hard to explain - look at the pics) which was not too bad. Had dinner, then i got conned by this old Thai man - who put this bit of string on me (which he tried to pass as a bracelet) and said some voodoo rubbish in thai and charged me 50baht little b*****. Anyone one of the other guys also got suckered. We then had a campfire and one of the guys from denmark played the guitar and was signging which was cool. Then we played some drinking games - i didnt drink - could not afford treking with a hangover - hard enough as it is. but the games were fun.
Despite having a mosquito net got covered in bites :-( and was bloody freezing, Woke up every hour and the dogs kept barking right underneath us.
Ok gotta go again now. But day 6 and the rest lol will have to be shorter as takes me too long for all my babble.
lots of love xxxxxxxx
Ok day 6:
Will try to keep this short and sweet. Left for our day of treking at 10am, still going up very steeply, but not quite as bad as first day. Some of the scenary did make it feel worth it for about a minute lol. No the scenary was beautiful and it was great to see how the hill tribe people lived (and makes u appreciate life at home for us). Another waterful stop off then lunch got a nice long break at this stop had a bit of a nap. Next was of to another hill tribe family which was not too bad a walk took the easier option as was so tired. Waterfull at this hill tribe family which was lovely again to cool down in. Then had dinner and another camp fire. Had a bit of a early night this time due to everyone being so tired and I got a cold thanks to Shawn. Another cold nights sleep. So weird how it goes from so hot in the day to freezing at night time.
Day 7
Last day of the trek - whooooop however still hard bloody work has had to go down very steeply. My poor little legs were strugglying to carry me and my back pack and me being my clumsy self kept tripping - but to be fair to me it was exactly a foot path we were on lol. Anyway stopped of at our last waterful - i was too tired to go for a swim, so just dipped my very blistered feet in the water. We then got in the truck type thing and had some lunch and then of to our nice relaxing bamboo raft. Was fun and got to see lots of elephants and locals at the river side and had some splashing games along the way with the locals. got back to guesthouse and got straight in pool - was best feeling ever, then a nice shower - finaly felt clean. Put our washing and we went into town to get dinner. Came back had a few drinks with the guys from our tour and then of to bed as early morning for our flight.
