Woke up and had some breakfast with the canadian girls. It was 2 slices of toast and watermelon which was good. The girls seemed like they were having a lazy day. So i went of to explore for a bit then it started thunderstorming so came back to hostel. rang mummy and was good to finally speak to her. Then met a english girl who was traveling on her own at the hostel and she came out with me for some dinner. And then we watched the Curiuous Case of Benjamin Button at the hostel and then bed time.

Went exploring the city with Carlene and a girl from the States, went to Chia Town, saw the Merlon statue, the Singapore flyer (like the London Eye) and went to the Raffles hotel - famous hotel in Singapore where the first Singapore sling was made. Tried the cocktail its self. Hotel was very posh. Then I went of to meet Lucy loo at the airport, and it was great to see her. And we came back and just had some more indian food and Lucy is currently asleep at the table in the common area of hostel, so time to go I think :-) and then from now on - it will be Lucy and I blog.
8th April
Today we did some exploring of Singapore and headed to Bugis street market where we were very tempted by lots of clothes bags and belts where nearly everything 10 dollars lol. After this we treked to find the fountain of wealth - where u make a wish. The fountain itself was a bit disapointing as is the larget fountain in the world (apparently) however it is best seen at night but hey ho still took some pics. We then treated ourselves to a rather large and not so cheap ice cream - which took about 30 mins to order and for the ice cream man could not understand us and we could not understand him - u might say a slight language barrier. We then looked around the shops in yet another singapore shopping centre, getting rather confused about exits and entries - must be a strategy to keep u in and spend ya dosh :-(/.
We then headed for the Singapore Flyer (Singapore version of the London Eye - however apparently largest wheel in the world), took ages to find this wheel - despite its size and stature lol. $29 when we finally found the ticket booth, it was so deserted no ques and we had our own capsule which was very cool and allowed us many photo opportunities. :-) lots of great views standing too close to the edge made our stomach do back flips lol starting to doubt whether we could have the guts for a bungey or sky dive.
After this we had to use the MRT which Lucy found a bit confusing, but Jemma had it sussed after using a few times previously and after strugglying with our back packs for about 50mins during rush hour (like the underground but with air con thank god oh and much cleaner) we finally arrived at the airport hot smelly and sweaty and hungry and dying for a gourmet meal and hot shower - fat chance.
The plane - well wasnt Quantas was jet star - which we met a nice welsh man sitting next to us and all shared our worries and demands that we were not gonna get any free meals but it was all good as we did :-). Had a stop over in middle of night in Darwin, so very tiring trip - and Darwin airport seemed rather small.
Ok read new blog for the beginning oz - whooop
lots of love jem and lucy. xxx
