Lucy's Big Adventure!
Not much to report I'm afraid this week! Still both at our jobs, mine is incredibly boring, I have one task a day to do so far & the rest of the day is spent asking for more work!
Friday evening near our Lodge, they put on a Noodle Market which is a few food stalls selling food from different countries, they had a Beatles tribute act and lots of families brought their picnic rugs & a bottle of wine & sat out on the green to enjoy the evening, it was really lovely - We sound really old don't we?!! (I bet Gavin's friends & family are thinking.. Gavin? Sit out with families & watch a Beatles tribute band?! Ha ha)
We went to Bondi Beach on Saturday for the day, which was so much better than we expected. We thought it would be really touristy and hectic, but it was really chilled out and relaxed. Gorgeous sunny day, which ended up with us both looking a bit red!
Don't know if its been on the News there or not, but the Queen Victoria (Ship) was in Sydney Harbour for the first time so we joined the crowds & went to have a look at her... Absolutely massive! We took photos (Again, still to come) and she makes the Opera House look tiny in comparison! Then on Sunday, the QE2 came into the Harbour for the last time, and the two ships passed each other on the water which was apparently a very historical event. We didn't see it from Sydney Harbour, but where we are staying, you can sit on the top of the hill in the park opposite our Lodge & see the Harbour & the City skyline, so we got a fantastic view with much less crowds!
So really quite a touristy weekend! Hopefully next week we might have some news that actually makes us sound our age & not like we're an elderly couple sitting out watching the Beatles & going to look at boats?!!!!
We have decided to leave Sydney around the Easter Weekend and head up to Brisbane once we've done all that Sydney has to offer, within reason! Really looking forward to moving on and seeing something new & different. Means we get to start on the next adventure & cross Sydney off the map!
Bye for now. Love to all - Let us know all the gossip from home, no matter how mundane & boring it is - We wanna know!!
Love from
Lucy & Gavin
