Lucy's Big Adventure!
Hello again everyone. Hope you're all well?
Not a lot happening here, seems like we've been here forever already but its been less than a week!
We went to Sydney Aquarium & the Sydney Wildlife Park which were both really cool...
Get this.. Gavin held a snake! (He has a major fear!) .. Gotta admit, he was a "little" encouraged by me going "Go on.. Its the best way to combat your fear!".. Ha ha.. Yeah, right, love to see me doing that with a spider! Anyway, have some piccies to send on when I can get access to my camera cable which I keep forgetting to bring with me when we come to the Internet cafes! I actually look more petrified than he does!
We were offered free tickets to watch Australia v Sri Lanka in the cricket, which I thought could be interesting.. How very wrong I was!! Luckily I'd brought my book with me just in case!! Gavin was quite enjoying it & desperately trying to get me involved by attempting to explain what was going on, but in the end he decided it best to give up when all my answers were "Uh huh..." "realllly... " and "Wow, that's great"... With just the SLIGHTEST hint of sarcasm!! We got there at 1pm and by 3pm, it was time to go - Still, is was an experience, and we did get a beer & a burger out of it!! Luckily, we did leave when we did, as it went on til 7:30 that night!
We have now moved out of the City & up into North Sydney , which is a major difference, its unbelievably quiet, so quiet we had to ask around for an Internet cafe, which we discovered, doesn't really seem to exist up there! Managed to track one down though so should be able to keep in touch. We are staying in a Lodge, which is rather basic but pretty nice to be honest. Our room has a bed, a table & 2 chairs, a fridge, a wardrobe & a TV with shared bathroom & kitchen facilities. Don't really need much more than that, feel a bit like students with the way we're living off beans on toast & pasta but its all good fun! Quite a change from staying with my Uncle in the City in his luxury apartment with our own bathroom, plasma TV & balcony overlooking the city with his new hot-tub he's building!!
Gavin's doing his Health & Safety course at the moment, which is a 6 hour course where hopefully he will gain a card which enables him to work on Construction sites & things like that which is compulsory out here. He was looking into working in the parks & garden side of things, but after a trip to the Wildlife Park & seeing all the deadly snakes & spiders that are rather common here, usually found within the sites he'd be working at, he quickly changed his mind!! I'm off to register with a temping agency in a mo, then trundling around trying to find somewhere to live. So should hopefully have more exciting news next week fingers crossed!! Lots of love to you all. Lucy & Gavin xx
