Got up really early for some reason so got some brekkie, packed and checked out. Checked my purse to pay for some credit for the internet..... the $90 i had got out the night before was gone. It's absolutely gutting, especially as i NEVER get out that much money and had done to put some in my suitcase for emergancies. But, I'm not going to get it back so that, is that. On the plus side, I got a call through from Mirium, who I had met in Mooloolaba - she had found my camera in her bag! We hadn't exchanged FB or anything but she had rang the hostel and got my number. I tried to find her on FB but couldn't so said I would text her on the number she called me on so we could sort out where she could leave it for me in Sydney. Wasn't till she hung up I saw it was an unknown number! So thats a story to be continued... fingers crossed I will get it back. But I am not so sure, my luck has been the worst this week. Had been planning to go to the beach with the guys but Andy and Seb went to the zoo instead so I waited for Haydn. He was still asleep when the 9 bus went, he eventually got up (i think he had a very heavy night) and we got the 11 o clock bus... turned out the only bus we could get BACK to the hostel was at 12! No way enough time, but the driver who dropped us off was awesome, said if we walked back to the transit center for 3 he could run us back to the hotel to pick our stuff up then get back for our 3.30 bus :-) The weather was gorgeous as we did a costal walk along some beautiful beaches. Ended up on a pretty much deserted beach which was stunning! Stayed there for about an hour, i fell asleep. All you could hear was the sea and the birds, so lovely. Had a quick swim then we looked at the map.... we had totally mis read it! We thought it was a 2 hour round trip, but it was actually a 2 hour trip to the next town on the other side of the park! So we had to work out how we could cut through, back to the park HQ.... my god, such a misssion! We knew we had to rush if we wanted to get back in time for the bus. We chose a route which looked the shortest but when we read about it after we had actually picked the difficult walking track, where sensible footwear etc was recomended... there we are in our beach wear! So should have gone back the way we had come, we hot footed it but it still took about an hour and a half. Thank god for the people we kept bumping into who helped direct us or we couldn've got so, so lost. The paths were so badly marker out!! It was pretty impressive though, kind of jungly, but yeah we were pretty worried about getting back in time for our bus. And, being a boy, Haydn was desperate for food! When we eventually made it back to the HQ we treated ourselves and got a bus back to the trasit center, and even had time to grab some lunch from the food court. The guy from Nomads picked us up with no problems and we got our stuff, then got on the bus to Rainbow Beach. Took about two hours but went pretty quickly, I had my book to read so it was ok :-) Rainbow Beach is a tiny little town, a few shops and cafes, the beach and Frasers on Rainbows and Dignos, two hostels next to eachother. I was staying at Fraser's on Rainbows. Checked in and was in room 1, an 8 bed all girls dorm. When I got in there was no one else in the room so I took the time to have a shower. Hit's me hard every time I am back to being on my own so was feeling a bit nervous again. 2 girls came into the room, both from England, very posh but seemed nice so chatted to them for a little bit. They were going to Fraser the following day. Went with them to the bar in the hostel which was really nice and saw Haydn sat with some people on one of the tables in the garden so when the girls went to get food I went and sat with Haydn. the people he were with were really nice, a big bunch of English girls and a few people travelling on their own. Turns out one of the guys in from West Meon! Such a small world! Got some free Snakebite as were on the Oz Ex and met one of my drivers from earlier in my trip! Think he did my sydney to Spot X trip. So was outside for a while then they were doing bar games in the bar.... I joined in with Bite the Box. Had never played before and suprised myself!! Thought I would be out really quick but got to the stage before a flat piece of paper, where they had a mm of card folded up! Managed to get it, but fell over before I was stood back up grr! Was really good fun though, I ached the next morning mind you! So yep, there's a new game I can do! Once that had finished everyone was heading to bed so I thought I may aswell do the same. Everyone in my room was already asleep, i was so so so freezing so turned off the fan but just couldn't get warm. The bed wasn't comfy either and I was shivvering so much.... honestly don't think I got any sleep that night! Hoped I wasn't coming down with a cold... I was. Have had a cold since then (been 5 days now, still got it!), definately got it from Haydn! Pain in the ass. So yeah, desperate for it to clear up, fingers crossed!
