- So it was off to Waterbom again!
- We had another great day, or great weather again. Actually, we haven't been rained on at all. While it did rain for a few minutes when we were inside, it has never affected our plans, and we never got rain when out (which we have been most of the time). For a period today, it was complete sunshine with almost no clouds.
- up at 7 am for breakfast. They had some local bananas which I tried, I knew they were small, but really are very small - but quite sweet and tasty.
- Brought tickets to WaterBom from reception, then walked to WaterBom. While the shopkeepers and drivers in the street are pushy to sell stuff, when we went the wrong way briefly (or more a poor assumption about town planning and streets making any sense) and turned back, they were all very accommodating, noticing we must be lost and were sure to get us in the right direction.
- Got straight into Water Bom (opens at 9 am), and went straight to the slides that become busiest later in the day, and were able to do multiple runs with no cues. Amazingly, at the first ride, the operators looked at us, and two of them both greeted us and remarked they remembered us from Monday and knew both our names! (this was repeated later in the day by a third operator who recognised us and helped us out - then when leaving the part one of the first 2 saw us and thanked by name).
- Once we had done all the slides we had done Monday, Ethan decided to do the a drop slide, where stand on a platform and it drops out under you & fall into the slide. While very apprehensive he decided to give it a go, and liked it, although not enough to do again (I also did it, and while god, can see why wouldn't do it again as the slide is a bit average compared to other options).
- Ethan wanted to film me to do a larger version, which dropped from the highest point to the ground in a few seconds! He diligently waited at the bottom, recording each time to ensure he recorded me (we weren't aware from the ground, but there was a long cue). The lifeguards were great, and noticed and radioed up to make sure I was in the cue, then let him know when I was coming (despite both the top and bottom attendants changing). The view is great, to the point where they have a bell that the attendants can use to warn of a tsunami as they have a perfect view out over the ocean. The slide itself was thrilling in-that the flood falls out and then a couple of seconds later are on the ground - however, the pain of accelerating and decelerating takes the edge off wanting to repeat.
- The level of care and customer support is amazing, to the point where they mop the floor in the bathrooms after every person; mirrors and taps are always spotless with not even a drop of water on them as there is one or more full-time bathroom attendants. Others mop floors on the paths, stairs, polishing railings, gardeners everywhere (if a leaf falls on the ground or in a pool, it is only a matter of minutes before someone has cleaned it up. The lift for one of the large tube slides broke, so the attendants walked the tubes up the stairs by hand!
- During the busiest period, we went on the lazy river. This was more fun than expected, with waterfalls, water spraying along the way, and very nice scenery (like the entire park). I tried a coffee for the first time in bali, having been told by the locals they have great coffee. I'm not sure if it was just the place, but it was not great… although I did manage to drink - it was ominous when they kept asking if I wanted sugar when I ordered and again when making it… I should have taken them up on the sugar offer.
- Ethan went in one of the pools for a bit, we did a few more slides & had some lunch. After lunch, facetimed the girls (Makayla and mummy) and "took them with us" on the slides.
- Later in the arvo went to the tower near the entrance (one of four) and had short cues. I also did another drop slide (where the floor falls out) that does a sort of loop, i.e. drop down then do a 360 loop but the slide is tipped a bit to the side. Unfortunately, Ethan couldn't do this one as need to be 45 kg+ to have enough weight to get around the loop (if you don't, there is an opening in the slide at the low point to climb out). This was quite fun, but after a couple of times starts to hurt as puts a lot of pressure on the back.
- Stayed again till closing time (6 pm), then walked back to the accommodation. Had showers, then out for dinner.
- Ethan didn't want to venture too far, and we noticed in town the Rugby and Soccer were playing at packed restaurants. We were going to go to one of the on-site restaurants, but wanted to try something local, but the only local options (there were plenty of others) were snail soup, snail skewers, or some seaweed with tofu (I think), needless to say we were not that keen on local food! So walked down to the same place we did last night (turns out the entire place, which is quite large, does not allow smoking which was a massive attraction as mist places end up having people near you smoking).
- Food was great again, I ended up having Nasi Gorang, and Ethan Pizza… Had some dancing again, a few fireworks, but much less than prior nights.
- Walked back to the hotel after dinner, chatted to the girls for quite a while. Now all packed and ready to fly to Singapore.
