Slept like a log" Other than it being a bit cold the trip was really smooth, got a blanket, pillow and bed covers. I didn't get time to change, fell asleep straight away! Breakfast this morning was a 'non-veg' omelette, with onions - Don't ask! - and bread, read the paper for a little bit and soon it was time to depart the train! Got on the bus to our hotel, is a room with Louise and Zoe this time, had a shower and got myself sorted before an amazing lunch, curry, chips and chicken! Then met up with some other peeps and went out to explore -> freedom until 6pm! So we walked to the sea, and then all along marina drive until we got to the beach -> Not quite as beautiful as the Maldives, the sea was littered with rubbish. We wondered around trying to find a crafts market, but failed. Some (4 peeps) wondered off, so we waited for ages, but they never returned, so the 4 of us split and Molly and I went to find then, ended up walking through a mosque but not finding them. I wasn't too worried, but the other 2 peeps (lucy and co) were, so they stated a while, whilst Molly and I went to Colaba causeway, a shopping/market street which was lovely! We got bombarded by people blessing us as it was Ganesh festival, and a little girl who wasn't begging, but rather asking us for rice, so we went and bought her some rice to feed her and her family/ Bought some more funky purple trousers, an elephant for gramps and this amazing giant rock for mummy, so beautiful but heavy! Going to have to re-jig the packing! Came back for an orientation 6-8pm on the 6th floor! And only 2 tiny lifts. This hotel is so old, it also has it's own bar in the basement.
Then we had dinner fairly early and me, molly and two others (realised I should have learnt names by now!) went off to the cinema, premium seats at RS290 to see Mary Kon in Hindi-Without sub titles! But random words were in English, so we figured out the plot quite well! At random times everyone laughed! The movie also started at 845pm and had a 30min interval in the middle of the movie, it was long! We bought cupcakes to eat in the cinema before we went in…so cute! At the end the Indian national anthem came on and everyone in the cinema stood up, very random. We had an extended curfew until midnight, so came back at 1130pm and went to bed, awesome movie sesh though!
