We left the hotel late last night after sharing a taxi with some annoying Australians who didn't like the English (thanks!). We boarded the train at CST terminal (based on St Pancras in London) but set off slightly later at around 11.30pm. Our 3-tier AC carriage was comfortable, althought an argument between some Canadians and Indians, a know it all young British lad and a snoring man did spoil the peace, still we managed to catch a bit of sleep.
We arrived a couple of hours late,at 11.00am, in Tivim and got an uncomfortable rickshaw to the resort of Anjuna. We were booked at the Anjuna Palms Guest House but our room was at a relatives house, conveniently nearer the beach! We got taken across the resort on the back of a motorbike! Scary! Our room was spacious and with a good, fast ceiling fan which we needed in the heat!
Following a quick rest and cool down we headed to a beachside 'shack' for a drink before a walk on the beach and to explore the area. After a couple of hours, including Laura soaking her skirt in the sea, we headed back to do some washing, before showering and going out for tea.
By this time there was a brief storm which luckily cooled the temperature down too. We headed back to the beachside 'shack' for Prawn Curry, Chapatis and Mango Lassi, followed by a well deserved cocktail. I think we are settling into Goa life well!
