First thing yesterday morning (Wednesday 7th) we made our way straight to the Wednesday Tibetant Flea Market, which stood right on the edge of Anjuna beach. We wondered round countless rows of stores selling ornaments, clothes, accessories and fabrics. During our shopping trip we saw that same group of 'mature travellers' that we shared the boat ride from Elephanta Island, in Mumbai, with! - So we said a quick hello and wished them well for the rest of their India adventure. Coincidently, we also noticed the 'American stoner dude' and his family, that had a room across the hall from us in Jaipur! What are the chances!?! Luckily enough, he didn't recognise us, or if he did, he didn't say anything! After a good few hours browsing we came away with some bargin dresses, anklets and souvenirs.
Following late lunch in a beachside cafe, we headed back to our room to get ready to hit the beach. However, by the time we got there, around 3.30pm, it had started to cloud over. After returning to our room at 5.00pm, the heavens opened and the 6 hour storm began! Cutting off all the power in Anjuna! We had to escape our sauna of a room everso often to cool down on the porch whilst also watching the ferocious thunder and lightening. Just as we decided to call it a night, Laura spotted a frog jump with fright, in the room, to a thunder crash. Sarah had to use her quick-thinking and bravery to remove the frog and chuck it outside. But, after that we had quite a restless night, in our bikini's as our pj's!
This morning we awoke to find the power still out, so we headed on the bus to Mapusa and Panjim to book our sleeper bus to Bangalore and to have a look round (although we weren't very impressed at what called itself the capital of Goa, Panjim!).
On returning Anjuna, we did what came naturally and hit the beach before having tea of noodles and (Indian style) cheese burger by sunset.
